Attorney Rick Jackson is an associate in the firm's Corporate practice group. Rick handles matters for individual and corporate clients relating to Business, Corporate and Securities; Healthcare Law; Real Estate; and Zoning and Land Use.
Rick is a LEED AP (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional), a distinction he earned through the Green Building Certification Institute. As a LEED AP, he has a thorough understanding of green building practices and principles, as well as the LEED Rating System. He was the first attorney in western North Carolina to earn this credential.
Rick earned his law degree and Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. At the School of Law, he served as Managing Editor of the North Carolina Banking Institute Journal. His MBA from the Kenan-Flagler Business School is with a concentration in Real Estate.
Prior to professional school, Rick was a business consultant in the technology, banking and financial, and healthcare and medical industries in Atlanta, Raleigh, and Boston. He graduated from North Carolina State University as a Caldwell Scholar, where he founded and chaired SATELLITE, a non-profit designed to introduce students from rural North Carolina high schools to science and technology-related educational and career paths.
