Board Certified Specialist in Estate Planning and Probate Law

Doris brings clients extensive experience in estate planning and probate law as she advises on options available to ensure efficient management of an estate during incapacity and to structure an estate plan which promotes the orderly disposition of the estate at death. She places a particular focus on the reduction or elimination of federal estate taxes through lifetime gifts, credit-sheltered trusts and inter vivos or testamentary charitable trusts. In estate administration, she strives to provide supportive and knowledgeable counsel to decedents' families and personal representatives as they identify and distribute assets and pay any outstanding debts and taxes.

Doris serves as Commissioner for the Town of Biltmore Forest. She is also currently a member of the Brevard Music Center Board of Trustees, a member of the Asheville Symphony Orchestra Board, Assistant Secretary of the Board of Trustees of Givens Estates, Inc and serves as a member of the board of MemoryCare.
