The Elder and Special Needs Law Team centers on personal, in-depth counseling to individuals and families on a variety of lifetime and long term care planning issues, including financing options available for long term care through the use of long term care insurance, reverse mortgages, access to public benefit programs such as Medicaid, Medicare, and Veteran’s benefits and the use and maintenance of Supplemental Social Security (SSI) cash benefits.

We have extensive experience in disability planning for special needs clients and their families from evaluating, drafting and executing special needs trusts to advising and administering the trust. For accident or injury victims, we can assist trial counsel in insuring that a tort victim retains public benefits including SSI and Medicaid while benefiting from significant tort recovery.

As estate planners, we prepare and counsel on all estate planning documents and wealth transfer methods including wills, trusts, and property transfers. And, we assist in planning for the care of the incapacitated through use of durable powers of attorney, living trusts, appointment of health care agents, declarations of a desire for a natural death, irrevocable and special needs trusts as well as the use of guardianship proceedings when appropriate.

We handle all aspects of probate and fiduciary representation from ordinary uncontested matters to complex actions involving litigation among the interested parties.
