Attorney Susan Strayhorn Barbour Recognized for 25 Years of Law Licensure and Practice by the WNC Chapter of the North Carolina Association of Women Attorneys

The Western North Carolina Chapter of the North Carolina Association of Women Attorneys recognized Attorney Susan Strayhorn Barbour, a shareholder in McGuire, Wood & Bissette, P.A., for her 25 years of law licensure in the state of North Carolina at a special awards presentation May 6, 2010 in Asheville. The evening event, "Women of Wisdom," honored women attorneys from throughout western North Carolina who have earned the distinction of having been licensed to practice law by the North Carolina Bar Association for 25 years or more.
A member of the North Carolina Bar Association and a practicing attorney with McGuire, Wood & Bissette, PA since 2000, Barbour is a member of the firm’s Management Committee and Real Estate Legal Team. She completed her law degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1984 after earning her undergraduate degree there in 1981. In the community, Barbour is a volunteer tutor at A.C. Reynolds High School; Member and Past Chair of the Personnel Committee of New Hope Presbyterian Church; Member of the NC Association of Women Attorneys Advisory Council, and Member of the Women Lawyers Alliance.
